SILENCE IS VIOLENCE
We have three free initiatives:
Our mission is to provide background support to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities in St. Pete and nationally while educating locals on racism today via books written by BIPOC authors and educators.
Are you a St. Pete local and would like an antiracism yard sign or to borrow a book? There are numerous ways to contact and get engaged with us.
Come pick up a sign and borrow a book. Chat with us to learn how you can support our organization, support local BIPOC-led organizations that are doing the actual ground work in our community for equity and policy change, or more info on local and National organizations and individuals working on dismantling white supremacy in our society.
You can also visit Webb’s Cit’s Cellar at Green Bench Brewing every Thursday-Sunday to read a book from our small permanent collection in house exclusively for patrons at this local Black owned brewery.
There are numerous ways you can support us, from monetary donations, to donations of books and signs, volunteering with us or hosting our pop-up library, and to word-of-mouth among friends and neighbors.
Whether you’re new to the antiracism journey, you recently moved to St. Pete, or are just looking for more ways to get involved, you can check out our resources page for grassroots BIPOC-led organizations or visit us in person at one of our pop-ups to get printed resources.
Remind yourselves, family, neighbors, and visitors what is important to you!
We have 74 titles available to borrow for free. You can read full synopses, view in real time which books are available, and reserve one pickup at our next pop-up or coordinate delivery. We are continuously adding new titles!
